Padella opens West End debut in Soho
Shaftesbury Capital has announced that Padella, the Italian pasta restaurant, has opened in the heart of Soho at 2 Kingly Street, marking the brand’s West End debut.
Padella – Italian for “pan” – was founded by hospitality duo Jordan Frieda and chef Tim Siadatan, with the new 2,300 sq ft Soho restaurant spanning two floors with 80 covers. Known for its contemporary small-plates approach, Padella offers high-quality, accessible dining on Kingly Street, with signature dishes including Pici Cacio e Pepe and Beef Shin Ragu, catering to both quick visits or more relaxed occasions.
Championing British produce, the restaurant sources locally to create seasonal pasta dishes, withinteriors blending warm wood, chrome, and Formica on the lower floor, and soft pink upholstered seating above, inspired by Soho’s 1960s lounge culture.
This letting underscores Shaftesbury Capital’s strategic approach to curating a best-in-class brand mix that reflects Soho’s distinctive character, reinforcing the strength and vibrancy of its extensive food and beverage offer.
Emma Matus, Head of Restaurant Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, said: “Soho’s hospitality offer continues to evolve, and Padella reflects the calibre of concepts and creativity shaping the neighbourhood. Padella is a highly anticipated arrival, its West End debut an eye-catchingaddition to Soho’s established mix of best-in-class restaurants, bars, and retail. It will resonate with our diverse audience, introducing offers that can play a part in every different visitor purpose.
Jordan Frieda and Tim Siadatan, Co-Founders at Padella, added: “Inspired by our many trips to Italy, Padella was designed to celebrate the joy of simple, high-quality pasta dishes. As we mark our 10th anniversary, our Soho restaurant reflects the continued growth and evolution of our concept. Bringing an affordable, fast-paced, and authentic dining experience to our guests has always been key, so opening in a location that matches our brand’s energy was essential. With its renowned and diverse food and drink scene, Soho is the perfect stage for our West End debut, and we can’t wait to share Padella with this vibrant community.”
This announcement follows the news that Vagabond Wines has signed for a Soho location at 14 – 16 Ganton Street, continuing Shaftesbury Capital’s F&B momentum. The West End debut will feature the brand’s signature self-pour wine concept, alongside a curated menu of seasonal small plates and nibbles, designed for sharing and celebrating the art of wine and food pairing.
