Gloucester Quays elevates its retail line-up with two key openings this month
Peel Retail & Leisure has announced the openings of Mr Simms Sweet Shop, and Brand Eyewear, a concept debut, at Gloucester Quays, the leading crossover outlet destination.
Brand Eyewear has launched its 505 sq ft store, debuting its unique eyewear concept, combining the excellent customer service and quality products of high-end opticians, with a pricing structure akin to household names like Vision Express and SpecSavers. Featuring a carefully-chosen selection of designs from quality brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, and DKNY, Brand Eyewear also offers a Lens Bar for visitors to test things like lens colour, reflection coating, and frame materials.
Also joining Gloucester Quays is Mr Simms Sweet Shop, in a central 2,117 sq ft unit. It is just the third outlet for the brand in the South West, set to benefit from the covered mall’s high footfall, prime retail, and complementary adjacencies. Mr Simms Sweet Shop’s take on a nostalgic confectionery store expands the destination’s family-friendly offer, which includes the recent addition of innovative leisure concept, Clip ‘n Climb.
Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel Retail & Leisure, commented: “The openings of Mr Simms Sweet Shop and Brand Eyewear signal the broad offer Gloucester Quays has become known for. Being a crossover outlet means catering to every want and need, and every visit purpose. These additions highlight our commitment to delivering that, securing exciting retail, elevating the experiences of our guests, and creating that full day-out environment alongside the huge variety of F&B and leisure."
Renee Broughton Johnson, Founder of Brand Eyewear, said: “Opening my first store at Gloucester Quays was a milestone moment for Brand Eyewear. Location is vitally important when debuting new concepts, and I knew on first viewing that Gloucester Quays was a prime destination to showcase Brand Eyewear’s excellent customer service and good value products, with its quality retail offerings. We already feel at home here in Gloucester’s leading outlet destination.”
These openings follow the announcement that three new F&B concepts have taken space at Gloucester Quays this year: Banchina Italian has made its city debut; Muse Brasserie introduces French fusion cuisine to the destination; and COSMO Restaurant Group’s Umami will open this summer.
