Redical and HUB to return to The Liberty with a second exhibition on plans to evolve the centre

Redical, owner of The Liberty Romford, and its development partner, HUB, are to hold a second public consultation exhibition on proposals to evolve the centre, with the team returning to the mall on the 14th and 17th October.

Visitors will be able to view a series of information boards and talk to the team about the plans, which include creating a stronger retail offer featuring a new flagship store; more food, drink, and leisure options; new homes in the heart of the town; safer and more welcoming walking routes across the town centre; greener, more vibrant public spaces; and new jobs and opportunities to support the local community.

Following the last consultation event in the centre in July, Redical and HUB have considered the feedback and will be providing more detail on the design and sustainability, landscaping and public spaces, the new homes, movement and accessibility, and how the development will be integrated with the surrounding town centre.

Stephen Daniels, Head of Asset Management and Regeneration at Redical, said:“We are looking forward to sharing more information on how we want to help the town centre flourish for the long-term.  While The Liberty already makes an important social and economic contribution to Romford, these proposals are an opportunity for it to do even more, creating a place that Romford can be proud of for years to come.”

Tom Valente, Development Director – Regeneration at HUB, added: “This is an exciting stage in the consultation as we share an update on how the design has progressed following the feedback received to date, and provide more detail on the benefits the plans will bring to Romford town centre.  We encourage as many people as possible to visit the exhibition as we are very keen to hear what people have to say.”

Since purchasing The Liberty three years ago, Redical has undertaken an extensive programme to enhance the centre.  Its £7 million investment includes improvements to the entrances, car parks and customer experience, and attracting many leading retailers to The Liberty, such as MINISO, Lovisa, 80s Casual Classics, Pret, Black Sheep Coffee, Rituals and Pandora.  The Liberty’s leisure offer has also been expanded with the addition of Gootopia and S3 Padel, which will open next spring.
