La Dolce Vita: Covent Garden adds Harry’s to flourishing F&B line up

Shaftesbury Capital has announced that Harry’s, the Italian restaurant brand, has signed for a flagship site in Covent Garden. The Richard Caring-owned operator will bring its signature blend of timeless Italian charm and contemporary elegance to the iconic Piazza, bolstering the destination’s vibrant line-up of F&B operators and strengthening its position as a must-visit London dining hub.

Opening this winter at 11-12 Russell Street, Harry’s Covent Garden will deliver its trademark Italian glamour with a modern twist across c.3,100sq ft, including a large terrace on the Piazza for guests to dine al fresco. Harry’s will serve its menu of authentic Italian dishes, including the fan favourite Harry’s Taglioni, alongside a carefully curated range of cocktails and extensive wine list. The space will be fitted out to match Harry’s timeless elegance, drawing inspiration from classic Italian establishments to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Situated in the heart of Covent Garden, Harry’s will complement the surrounding array of acclaimed restaurants, including Ave Mario, Balthazar, The Barbary, Delamina Townhouse, Flat Iron, Story Cellar, The Oystermen and SUSHISAMBA.

Emma Matus, Head of Restaurant Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, commented: “The site on the historic Piazza is one of the city’s best hospitality pitches, featuring an unrivalled al fresco dining area in the very centre of Covent Garden. As a fixture of London’s culinary scene, Harry’s is the ideal brand to do this site justice, and will add an elegant and authentic dining option to the neighbourhood’s flourishing offer of high calibre operators in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.”

Laura Mills, Managing Director of The Ivy Group, added: “We’re thrilled to be opening our latest Harry’s in the heart of Covent Garden, one of London’s most iconic dining destinations. At Harry’s, we’re committed to bringing a touch of la dolce vita to the capital’s most vibrant neighbourhoods and joining Covent Garden’s unrivalled culinary line-up felt like a natural next step. As always, our focus goes beyond great Italian food. It’s about creating memorable moments through warm, heartfelt hospitality. We’re incredibly proud to bring our signature charm to the West End and can’t wait to welcome both familiar and new faces to Harry’s Covent Garden this winter.”

The signing of Harry’s follows the recent announcements that ADOH!, a Sri Lankan street food concept from the founders of Kolamba, is to open in Covent Garden this summer at 36 Maiden Lane, and Café Kitsune, the French-Japanese lifestyle brand from Maison Kitsuné, is set to open at 55 Monmouth Steet later this month.
