Merry Hill strengthens its retail line-up with nearly 20,000 sq ftof new signings and reinvestments
Merry Hill has announced a major wave of signings and reinvestments at the centre, covering nearly 20,000 sq ft in total. Lovisa, the international jewellery brand, has signed at the centre alongside Miniso and Select Apple. Flying Tiger and the UK’s biggest Savers have already opened, while Hotel Chocolat has relocated, and The Body Shop has renewed its commitment to the centre, reflecting a strong mix of investment and confidence from both new and existing tenants.
Lovisa has signed for a 750 sq ft space and is set to open in time for the festive season, with the new store stocking the brand’s full range of necklaces, earrings, and rings, as well as piercing services. It will join Merry Hill’s growing line-up of jewellery and accessory retailers, including H.Samuel, Warren James, and the newly upsized 6,000 sq ft Goldsmiths showroom, which opened in September. The arrival of Lovisa highlights Merry Hill’s continued strategy of understanding and responding to its customers’ demands, including that of premium and accessible jewellery.
Joining Lovisa is Miniso, which has recently signed for 2,400 sq ft at Merry Hills Lower Mall Level, its debut store at the centre. Alongside everyday beauty, lifestyle, and pop-culture products, it will offer Miniso’s signature range of plushies, toys, stationery, food, and home accessories. Select Apple, an official Apple Premium Partner, is also set to open its 2,800 sq ft store in early November. The addition of these in-demand brands showcases the variety and quality of retail brands that Merry Hill continues to attract.
Flying Tiger has also joined Merry Hill’s retail offer. The recently opened 3,100 sq ft store on the Lower Mall showcases its well-known range of Danish-designed home décor, stationery, party supplies, kitchen essentials, and children’s toys, adding even more variety for visitors to enjoy at Merry Hill. Alongside this, Savers has opened its new 5,900 sq ft lower mall space, offering affordable health, beauty, and household products. This will be the largest Savers location in the United Kingdom, further reinforcing tenant confidence in investing in the centre.
In addition, Hotel Chocolat has relocated to the upper mall, unveiling an enhanced store concept that includes its new Velvetiser Café. The Body Shop has also reinvested in Merry Hill with a renewed lease, further demonstrating the long-term confidence of established brands in the destination.
Alistair Winning, Asset Manager for operator Sovereign Centros from CBRE, commented: “This mass retail investment highlights our tenants’ confidence and commitment to investing in the centre. These signings and openings give our customers an even greater choice of leading brands and experiences to meet the needs of our community, cementing Merry Hill as the preferred retail destination in the area.”
Alysha Coric, Country Manager at Lovisa, said: “Signing for our newest location at Merry Hill is an exciting moment for Lovisa. Merry Hill has long been on our radar, with its desirable mix of complementary jewellery brands and its clear commitment to supporting its retailers. We are looking forward to opening our store later this year and bringing our sought-after accessories to Dudley and the wider catchment!”
These latest signings follow recent activity at Merry Hill’s retail park, which has welcomed a trio of openings as part of a comprehensive refurbishment. B&Q, Costa Coffee, and Bensons for Beds have introduced 33,800 sq ft of new space to the now fully-let and trading site, further strengthening Merry Hill’s diverse retail mix.
