LabTech appoints head of London office leasing: Ed Nicholson

Leading London property investment company, LabTech, has announced the appointment of Ed Nicholson as Head of London Office Leasing for its estates across the capital, covering both its traditional offices and LABS, the co-working arm of the business.

Nicholson joins the company following 7 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he fulfilled his role as a Chartered Surveyor in their central London leasing team. The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business as LabTech pushes ahead with a pipeline of office openings across the capital. Ed will be responsible for managing key schemes across LabTech’s estate, including existing buildings at 1 Granary Street and Victoria House, as well as leading the refurbishment and leasing for new offices at 7 Herbrand Street and 1 Museum Street.

Yaron Shahar, Chief Executive of LabTech, said: “We are determined to attract the best industry talent to help drive the business through and beyond this difficult period, and we are thrilled to have recruited Ed as the latest member of the office leasing team. Despite the challenges this year, we are committed to maintaining and growing our office portfolio across London, as the capital remains a key market. While it may be slower this year, we are confident the market will rebound from 2021 onwards.”

Prior to his time at Cushman & Wakefield, Nicholson was also part of the Strutt & Parker team after joining their graduate scheme back in 2008 and is well known for having advised the likes of Almacantar, Landsec, and the Portman Estate.

Ed Nicholson, LabTech’s Head of London Office Leasing, added: “This is a great opportunity to join an established landlord and developer, with an enviable real estate portfolio, and one which is continuing to grow. With its breadth of workspace available via the traditional offering or their co-working concept, LABS, this company is well placed to meet and adapt to the demands of an evolving occupier base. Customer experience, design and technology are at the heart of this firm, and I am excited to be joining a dynamic team at a time when the office market is under the spotlight like never before.”

LABS now operates six properties across the London Borough of Camden, with spaces in Holborn under LABS management. LABS will also occupy 60,000 sq ft of the brand new mixed-scheme venture at Hawley Wharf Camden, set to launch later in 2021.
