Gold standard additions to St David's Cardiff line-up this Christmas

St David’s, one of the UK’s premier retail and leisure destinations, has announced the signing of two locally-based businesses for pop-up stores, just in time for Christmas.

  • The Royal Mint – the historic British coin minting company based just outside Cardiff – has launched its 434 sq ft gift store, opposite L’Occitane on The Hayes Arcade. Open until early January, the store will feature an array of items ideal for Christmas gifts, including: an embossed 1g gold bar; a 50p coin commemorating timeless children’s classic, The Snowman™; and sterling silver Christmas tree decorations.

  • Flawsome will open a 1,152 sq ft store on Cathedral Walk, adjacent to Lovisa, on Thursday 19 December. The Cardiff brand specialises in creating delicious drinks from surplus and wonky fruit and veg, sourcing directly from farmers to save unwanted produce. As well as the established juices, the St David’s pop-up will sell the brand new sparkling range, combining festive bubbles with their sustainability principles.

Commenting on the Christmas pop-up stores on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Landsec and intu, Kate Grant, intu’s regional managing director, said: “It’s great to welcome two local businesses to the retail line-up at St David’s to sit alongside some of the world’s most well-known brands. Our visitors will no doubt enjoy Flawsome’s delicious and sustainable juices, as well as the prestige on offer from The Royal Mint’s gift collection, as they shop at St David’s this Christmas.”

Nicola Howell, Chief Commercial Officer at The Royal Mint, said: “This is an exciting time for The Royal Mint as we open the doors to our very own gift store at St David’s this Christmas. The countdown to Christmas is well and truly underway, and visitors to Cardiff are guaranteed to find a unique gift for that special someone at our new store.”

Karina Sudenyte, Co Founder at Flawsome, added: “We set Flawsome up in 2016 with the aim of reducing waste, and making use of great produce that would be thrown away because of over-production or being deemed ‘ugly’. As a Cardiff company we know St David’s well, and cannot wait to show off our products – including the new sparkling range – to Christmas shoppers, who by buying our juices can really help save the planet!”

Landsec acted for The St David’s Partnership, and both brands dealt direct.
